Programs

  • One-on-One Adult Tutoring

The adult one-on-one tutoring program serves adults who would like to improve their basic literacy skills, and those who would like to learn to speak, read, and write English. Students are matched with trained volunteer tutors, who provide instruction that is individualized for the student’s personal, educational, and work-related goals.

  • Partners in Reading

Partners in Reading is a reading enrichment program available to all public and private elementary schools in Sheboygan County. The program focuses on students in kindergarten through third grades, matching volunteer reading partners with students to provide the students additional one-on-one or small-group reading opportunities.

The goal of the Partners in Reading program is to provide an adult who has been trained to support and encourage reading development in a positive manner; someone who can serve as a positive reading role model for the student and engage the student in active reading and writing/drawing/discussion activities to enhance comprehension.
